Whether you have been to Paris or not, you all know how famous baguettes are. I have been trying to find the best recipe for baguettes that can be easily made at home, and I finally did. This is a french recipe so I converted the measurements. I can guarantee you that once you hear that crisp sound of the baguette you will no longer want to make any other type of bread.
Yield: 2 Time: 2hrs
Ingredients:
3 cups of flour
1 1/4 cups of warm water
2 packages of instant yeast (8 grams)
1 full tsp of salt
Step 1:
Mix the yeast in warm water and let sit. Meanwhile in a bowl, mix the salt and flour together. Pour the water and yeast in the bowl and mix until well combined. Kneed the dough, cover it with a towel and let rise for 1h30
Step 2:
Preheat oven to 455 degrees. The dough will be sticky, but don’t worry, with flour Separate the dough in half and roll it until it forms a long stick. Make three cuts on the baguette, place in floured baguette pans and bake for 25 minutes.
*Tip: if you want the crust to be extra crispy, place a pan with water on the rack under the baguettes.
How easy was this recipe? There is nothing like fresh french baguette coming out of the oven. Stay tuned for my next recipe which will obviously include homemade baguettes 🙂
This looks amazing!! How many grams of yeast you need?

what are baguette pans?
Hey rena! Here is a link to baguette pans:

Hope this helps!
Can you make this without baguette pans?
You can. But it is a little hard to. If you put the baguettes in between two pound cake pans it might work.
Do you know how many teaspoons or table spoons of yeast you use? Not sure how to convert grams. Thx!
One package if yeast is 2 1/4 tsp so you would need 4 1/2 tsp of yeast.
I have made this recipe twice, so far, and the results are amazing. Thank you!
Thank you!! So happy you like this recipe!
Do you have to let the yeast rise and if so for how long?
